Nesma Telecom & Technology, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia-based multinational conglomerate Nesma Holding, has revealed its plans to foray into the UAE market with digital telecom towers that can carry the devices of more than one GSM operator.
Nesma Telecom has partnered with Eurostar Group, Dubai-headquartered leading digital and consumer technology innovator in the Middle East, aimed at helping the UAE telecom partners to implement eco-sustainable and socially responsible practices by reducing energy consumption.
Nesma Telecom & Technology is a leading full-service communications technology company providing state-of-the-art turnkey solutions for ICT needs. The company is now expanding its market offering.
Eurostar Group offers a wide-range of innovative and sustainable products designed to meet the needs of residential, commercial and government infrastructure development sectors in the Middle East.
Speaking on the sidelines of the recent Gitex Technology Week, which concluded in Dubai last week, Salah Sami Al-Sunaid, CEO of Nesma Telecom & Technology, said: “We are happy to bring the next-generation technology solution to the UAE.”
“The digital telecom towers can handle GSM coverage of multiple telecom operators via the same tower simultaneously, thus reducing the cost of operation, maintenance, land utilization and improving the aesthetics of the city,” he said.
“In the UAE, these towers can carry calling distribution devices for both Etisalat and Du at the same time. This new technology will be a paradigm shift in the UAE’s telecom infrastructure with the aesthetic design of the towers, which is different from traditional towers that can also be used for advertising and promotion purposes,” he added.
Raju Jethwani, chairman of Eurostar Group, said: “We are happy to introduce Nesma’s digital telecom tower system in the UAE.”
“Nesma has earned a reputation as a trusted name for camouflaged structures. The new telecommunication structure is designed for smart cities. With this technology, telecom operators can adopt a range of innovative methods like reducing power consumption of the towers,” he said.
“More ever, this will reduce carbon emission further contributing towards conservation of the environment and building sustainable network for the future,” he added.
In the UAE, Nesma is trying to discover new investment opportunities and find new partners. Nesma took part in Gitex Technology Week for the first time as part of its expansion plans to tap into new markets.
Nesma Holding is a privately owned Saudi Arabian conglomerate and maintains an active international presence through several joint ventures and partnerships both regionally and globally, it stated.
