Germany's Federal Network Agency will look at Vodafone's new zero-rated data offer for social media apps to make sure it complies with net neutrality rules, a spokesman for the Bundesnetzagentur told InfoSat magazine.
The new Vodafone Passes will be available from late October, allowing customers unlimited data for certain chat, social media, music or video apps. The regulator is already investigating a similar offer from Deutsche Telekom launched in April. Both Vodafone and Telekom have emphasized that the zero-rated data offer is open to all interested app providers.
