According to Marta Canatta, commercial manager of the public telco, speaking to the national news bureau IP Paraguay, fibre-based services powered by the GPON technology are already available across Asunción.
The services are delivered through different offerings: an Internet-only package (with 6Mbps and 10Mbps connections), a double-play service with Internet and IPTV, and a triple-play package with fixed phone as well.
In addition, the fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) technology will also enable COPACO to reduce network deployment costs.
“The benefits COPACO is getting through this new technology will revert to our customers,” said Marta Canatta. “Through this improvement our customers will only have to pay for the monthly subscription and not for the service installation.”
