Azerbaijan’s leading mobile network operator (MNO) by subscribers, Azercell has launched 4G LTE services in the nation’s second-largest city of Ganja. 23 base stations have been set up in the city and will provide Ganja with 99% coverage. The launch of 4G in Azerbaijan’s second city adds to its growing LTE network, already available in capital Baku and the Absheron Peninsula.
Azercell CEO Vahid Mursaliyev said: ‘The demand of our customers in high-speed mobile internet is increasing, thus we’re continuing our 4G rollout across the country.’ The company also announced that it plans to install 127 4G base stations by the end of this year, with 33 of these in Baku, Absheron and Sumgayit, with the remaining 94 to be located in various other regions of the country.
