Yesterday, the first smart city in Lebanon, which is BeitMisk, got launched in collaboration with Ogero. In fact, BeitMisk is now using fiber optics that are highly boosting the internet speed and enhancing the quality of the internet connection.
This smart city, which is the first of its kind in Lebanon, was introduced to the public in the presence of government officials and politicians including the Minister of Telecommunications Jamal Al Jarrah. The President and General Director of Ogero Imad Kreidieh was also present.
Also, the General Director of BeitMisk George Abou Jaoude noted that this smart city is not only relying on the fiber optics. In fact, the infrastructure is highly developed.

Voice
The speed test of the fiber optics was run in front of the attendees. In fact, it has the speed of 900 Mbps.
o make all of these features available, the city is using an FTTH cable (Fiber-to-the-Home) which replaces copper infrastructure. So, BeitMisk is not using cable television, or copper cables anymore.
This project is the leader of innovation in Lebanon. Jamal Al Jarrah noted that this smart city proves that the cooperation between the private sector and the public sector is the only way to develop Lebanon.
