Mobile operator MTS Belarus is looking to add an additional 49 locations across Belarus to its LTE services footprint this autumn, Providers.by reports the firm as saying. The cellco is already offering 4G services – via the country’s infrastructure provider Belarusian Cloud Technologies (beCloud) – in 50 towns and cities in the Republic, and aims to near-double this over the coming months. According to the mobile operator, the number of 4G users will exceed two million subscribers as a result of the expansion drive. beCloud initially deployed LTE networks in the capital Minsk, before rolling out services to other regional centres. MTS Belarus is now taking advantage of more than 650 4G base stations in Belarus, of which more than 200 are in the capital. During the remainder of 2017, the company is looking to switch on 4G services for customers, offering peak throughput of up to 112Mbps, in the following areas:
• Brest region: Bereza, Zhabinka, Ivanovo, Ivatsevichi, Kamenets, Lyakhovichi, Malorita, Stolin
• Vitebsk region: Beshenkovichi, Dokshitsy, Miory, Tolochin, Ushachi, Glubokoe, Dubrovno, Senno, Rossony, Postavy, Shumilino, Chashniki
• Gomel region: Zhitkovichi, Petrikov, Buda-Koshelevo
• Grodno region: Vaukavysk, Korelichi, Mosty, Smorgon, Ostrovets, Schuchin, Bolshaya Berestovitsa, Svisloch, Slonim
• Minsk region: Vileika, Kopyl, Kletsk, Nesvizh, Zhodino, Slutsk, Hatezhino, Svietly Sliach, Borovaya, Sloboda, Zabolotye, Uvachodziny, Piecy, Gatovo
• Mogilev region: Gorki, Krichev, Krugloe.
