IP Australia plans to modernise its ICT systems and adopt new technologies to improve its effectiveness and support digital service delivery.
The agency has announced its new 2020 ICT Strategy, as part of its corporate plan for the next five years. The strategy will involve developing integrated systems capable of providing anywhere, anytime access.
The ICT strategy will also involve developing a “digital workplace”, adopting technologies supporting increased efficiency for employees.
IP Australia has set a target for the current financial year of extending its current ISO certification to ICT areas, ensuring 99.5% internal systems availability during business hours and matching the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
For the next four years, the agency also aims to ensure compliance with the Digital Continuity 2020 policy and maintain or improve customer and stakeholder satisfaction with externally facing ICT systems.
IP Australia also aims to maintain its position of helping shape World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) ICT standards and strategies and seek to become an employer of choice by providing digital technology focused careers.
IP Australia plans to review the ICT strategy annually to account for technological advances and evolving business needs. Each review will take into account factors including whole of Australian government policy directions and relevant industry innovations.
