Claro has become the only mobile telephony operator to reach all 417 municipalities in the Brazilian state of Bahia, including 3G service. The announcement was made by the regional director of the company for Bahia and Sergipe, Marco Aurelio Alves, in an interview with Correio de Bahia.
Another achievement of the company is the expansion of its 4G coverage in the state, which now reaches 54 municipalities, while in the capital Salvador, coverage is assured to all locations after the installation of 69 sites and the modernisation of 164 existing antennas.
The operator expects that its LTE coverage will reach 40 new municipalities in Bahia by December.
