Beeline Uzbek LTE rollout adds a dozen cities in fortnight

Beeline Uzbekistan, part of international telecoms group VEON (formerly VimpelCom), has launched LTE services in more than a dozen new cities over in late July/early August. The flurry of activity has seen the cellco expand coverage of its 4G network from just Tashkent – where it inaugurated the system in August 2016 – to Navoi, Bukhara and Zarafshan by the end of July, before completing rollouts in Angren, Chirchik, Bekabad, Namangan, Andijan, Qarshi, Gijduvan, Samarkand, Jizzakh, Ferghana and Kokand in early August. Coinciding with the expansion drive, Beeline has also launched a series of 4G promotions to help accelerate take-up, offering all customers extra data, as well as additional bonuses for users on specific tariffs. New customers purchasing a Mi-Fi device are also entitled to an allowance of 5GB of international downloads plus 10GB of local data traffic per month for six months.
