Colombian operator Claro (America Movil) has expanded its 4G-LTE and 3G networks to a total of 425 municipalities all over the country, up from 294 a year ago. In a statement, the operator said it remained the operator with the most extensive 4G coverage in the country and was well on its way to achieving its target of 600 municipalities with LTE by the end of next year. The operator last year announced that it would follow the example of Claro's Chilean and Brazilian units by gradually rolling out LTE-Advanced services.
Claro Colombia last week reported total second quarter revenues up 4.5 percent year-on-year to COP 2.81 trillion and mobile customers up 3.4 percent year-on-year to 29.26 million.
