The Expresso Telecom Group has won the Connecting West Africa category at the inaugural West Africa Com awards which took place in Dakar, Senegal, on the 11th of July 2017.
The awards celebrate excellence across telecommunications, digital and ICT in West Africa recognising the strength and wealth of talent in the region. In particular, the Connecting West Africa category recognises a successful initiative to improve access to communications in the region. This could have been a pan-regional solution or a product designed to reach under-connected areas, with a focus on affordability and reliability.
Expresso Telecom Senegal is offering voice and data services across the country.
The West Africa Com award recognises Expresso Senegal’s commitment to building wifi hotspots across Dakar which are very popular and used by people of all ages for both business and pleasure. Expresso will be rolling out similar hotspots in cities across Senegal shortly as well as in Mauritania.
Eng. Abdalla Saeed, Managing Director of Expresso Senegal said “Congratulations to the wifi team at Expresso on this recognition. Our hotspots are extremely reliable and fast and consequently have been very well used from day one. Our expansion programme is ongoing so we can bring fast broadband to even more people across West Africa.”
