German IPTV platform waipu.tv has won more than 260,000 registered households with a total of over 500,000 users in the first nine months since its launch.
More than 50,000 households have signed up for one of the subscription packages. The figures reflect the customer base on June 30, 2017.
Parent company Exaring is, thus, slightly overperforming the business plan of its shareholder Freenet which expected over 250,000 registered and over 50,000 paying households on June 30, 2017. By the end of this year, Freenet expects waipu.tv to reach more than 500,000 registered and around 100,000 paying households.
80% of the waipu.tv users regularly use the integrated cloud-based PVR. Exaring wants to add further functions and content to its platform this year.
