Romania’s fourth largest cellco by subscribers RCS&RDS (Digi) has announced that its 4G LTE mobile network now covers half of the population after increasing its number of 4G antennas to 2,700, writes the Ziarul Financiar. Vice President of RCS&RDS Valentin Popoviciu said: ‘We now cover 50% of the population, as well as national roads and highways. All our investments are now focused on 4G technology.’ Popoviciu also added that the company’s number of 3G antennas has also increased to 3,836.
RCS&RDS is also planning a commercial launch in August/September of voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) and voice-over-Wi-Fi (VoWiFi).
