Up to 50 Hungarian government institutions, companies, business chambers, universities, research institutes and professional and civic organisations are forming a coalition to support national 5G mobile network development, the country’s Digital Welfare Commissioner, Tamas Deutsch, announced at an ICT conference. As reported by DailyNewsHungary, the 5G Coalition – officially established yesterday (19 June 2017) – is setting goals including drawing up a 5G development strategy and creating a testing environment to give Hungary a say in setting global 5G standards, aiming for the nation to become an early 5G adopter ‘from 2020’. Mr Deutsch added that Hungary intends to be ‘one of the centres for 5G development in Europe’.
