Belgian regulator BIPT has decided to regulate the mobile termination rates (MTR) for eight operators after conducting a market analysis. In its analysis of the mobile call termination market, it found that eight companies had significant market power on their networks, namely Join Experience, Lycamobile, Orange Belgium, Proximus, Telenet and Telenet Group (which last year took over KPN's Base), Vectone Mobile and Voxbone. The main obligation was to impose a lower termination rate.
