Telenor offers ‘4G+’ in seven cities

Norwegian-owned cellco Telenor Serbia has upgraded its LTE networks in seven cities with what it calls ‘4G+’ technology. The bolstered system combines frequencies in the 800MHz and 1800MHz bands but the cellco did not provide any further details. The evolution was deployed to Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, Kragujevac, Subotica, Zrenjanin and Pancevo, covering roughly 30% of the Serbian population. Executive Director Ingeborg Ofsthus commented on the development: ‘More than half of mobile internet in Serbia passes through the Telenor network, while the rate of growth of internet use is doubling on an annual basis. Therefore, we further invested in the latest 4G technology that is now available to customers in the largest cities in Serbia.’
