Orange and Orange Labs Egypt have announced the launch of a pioneer mobile application in collaboration with the Ministries of Health and Telecommunications and the International Telecom Union. It aims to detect diabetes and hypertension in patients. It is a key reference for doctors and medical practitioners as the content was provided by the specialist department of Non Communicable diseases at the Ministry of Health.
Orange has launched a short message campaign along with a number of public awareness sessions in support of the project. Rana Abbadi, chief officer for regulatory affairs and wholesale at Orange, said the initiative complements the campaign it began in 2014 with the ministries of health and telecommunications. It aims to raise awareness among diabetes patients and help them control its complications.
