LTE sees expansion in Estonia

Estonian mobile operator Elisa has completed the expansion of its LTE network in the Harju county. About 100 new LTE base stations have been deployed there, for an investment of over EUR 1 million.

Data speeds have tripled on the network in the region. Up to 95 percent of the county’s area has been covered with the second frequencies band; the third band has become available in certain locations. Elisa currently provides its LTE services over 800 MHz, 1,800 MHz and 2,600 MHz bands. Speeds of up to 225 Mbps broadband are available in locations where two bands are used, while up to 350 Mbps can be reached in locations covered with the three bands.

The operator's LTE network currently covers 97 percent of the country’s area.
