Snapchat offers a self-service ad platform

Snapchat is developing a self-serve platform for its new ad product, to be released with the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s (IAB) NewFronts conference. | 0 comments

The new platform will give publishers a place to put ads as full-screen vertical videos that would be intended as breaks between user stories, which compile snaps users have uploaded for friends to see. Other mobile platforms like Instagram have been occupying the same space competitively for years now and have begun to more aggressively procure advertising.

This new self-serve platform is strengthened by Snapchat’s recent tech company purchases, allowing for Snapchat to have a great amount of control over the self-serve system.

“This initiative isn’t just about catering to advertiser gripes; self-serve advertising solutions equal big dollars, managed services require resources and takes time. Self-serve scales up quickly and allows anyone to start advertising.” Jeremy Sigel, the global director of partnerships at Essence, told Digiday.
