La Poste Tunisienne plans community Wi-Fi service trial

Tunisia's post office company La Poste Tunisienne plans to test a community Wi-Fi service in under-served areas of the country, reports Thd.tn. A pilot is about to be launched in two municipalities without 3G or ADSL coverage, using a fixed wireless access service developed by Tunisian telecom provider Omniacom. Named TAWA (Tunisian Advanced Wireless Access), the service is based on wireless local loop technology and is capable of providing an indoor Wi-Fi signal within a radius of 3 km.
