DLR launches German satellite data platform

The German Aerospace Centre (DLR) has released CODE-DE, a publicly available platform hosting data from the European Earth observation programme Copernicus. The programme provides users with high-precision satellite data on properties, changes in land and ocean surfaces, atmosphere and climate and sea levels. The project is backed by the German ministry for traffic and digital infrastructure BMVI and CODE-DE is also linked to BMVI's weather and geography portal mCLOUD.

The platform is targeted at companies and public authorities, as well as start-up founders or entrepreneurs seeking to use the data to develop digital applications, according to a statement from the BMVI.
