Female health volunteers of different villages of Gorkha have gifted the mobile phone sets as an incentive for their dedication to work.
The District Public Health Office, Gorkha, in support of different health organizations including the Nepal Fertility Care Centre (NFCC) presented mobile phone sets to 624 female health volunteers.
The DPHO said it decided to provide cell phone sets to women volunteers as it hoped that this would further motivate them to dedicate to people's services.
Female health volunteers here visit door-to-door in the villages from remote to accessible areas to provide basic health services, administer vaccines to children and drugs against elephantiasis despite meagre pay and facilities.
