OIFC to facilitate mobile banking

The Oman Investment and Finance Company (OIFC), has launched Khedmah, a state-of-the-art smartphone application that can be used to pay utility bills. The app has been launched as part of the company’s efforts to develop and enhance the quality of its customer services using modern technology, stated a press release.

The app offers a range of options and tools that allow customers to view and pay their electricity, water and telecom bills in an easy, convenient and secure manner. The app works on both android and iOS platforms.

The number of Khedmah users reached 33,000 during the trial period before launching, and is getting increasingly popular among customers, as it is very user-friendly and saves considerable time and effort with regard to bill payments. Customers can recharge and top-up prepaid telecom accounts of Omantel, Ooredoo, Renna and Friendi, using the application.

Launching the Khedmah app, Said Ahmed Safrar, CEO of OIFC, said, “The Khedmah app has been developed to help customers by offering a one-stop solution for all their bill payment requirements. “They can view and pay their electricity, water and telecom bills from the Muscat Electricity Distribution Company and Public Authority for Electricity and Water for Muscat in the easiest and fastest way possible. Khedmah also allows payment of postpaid telecom bills from Omantel and Ooredoo conveniently. The company also has a plan of extending such payment facility for all electricity and water accounts across the sultanate.”

The app is e-connected with all local banks, and providers of electricity, water and telecommunications services through OIFC’s central database. All e-payments are highly secure as they are done through a foolproof security system provided by banks in the sultanate.
