As Cameroon football fans are still celebrating winning the Africa Cup of Nations, TV viewers in the country have scored a televisual goal with the availability of content from SPI International / FILMBOX.
The global TV operator and video-on-demand (VOD) provider has inked a deal with local TV service provider Swecom Cameroon to provide its French-language package comprising two movie channels, FilmBox Africa and FilmBox Art House; two sports channels – FightBox and Fast&FunBox; the DocuBox documentary channel; international music channel 360TuneBox; HDTV fashion network FashionBox; and millennial gaming channel Gametoon.
Both movie channels are available with French subtitles while DocuBox and Gametoon will be dubbed in French. “As we are committed to expanding our distribution footprint in Africa we are happy to have signed an agreement with Swecom marking our first launch in Cameroon,” commented Amit Karni, SPI head of sales for Africa.” SPI’s channels are already carried by a number of DTH, cable, IPTV and mobile TV platforms throughout the African continent.
