The Mexican company intends to increase reach and awareness through the most popular online video services. Currently, TV Azteca is only distributing digital content through its own Web platform and mobile app portfolio.
“This is a great example of how a TV network and a technology company can work together creating new solutions and user experiences,” said Juan José Durán, content director, YouTube, Latin America.
Through the agreement, TV Azteca will also integrate YouTube’s player into its own digital platforms, aiming to improve users’ experience and video quality.
According to Grupo Salinas, all online content will be available through YouTube, including series such as La Fiscal de Hierro, La Isla, Cocineros Mexicanos, Venga la Alegría and Ventaneando, and the sports shows Fut Azteca and Box Azteca.
“For TV Azteca, YouTube is a key partner that enables us to take our content to an audience that is demanding more options to watch entertainment, sports and news programming,” said Grupo Salinas.
