Movistar Argentina (Telefonica) announced that it has installed the world's highest 4G base station in Plaza de Mulas in Aconcagua Provincial Park.
Located at a height of 4,300 metres above sea level, the base station will allow local police, rescue and medical staff, as well as around 10,000 mountaineers a year, to download and upload data at 4G speeds. Aconcagua is the highest mountain outside Asia, at 6,961 metres, and by extension the highest point in both the Western and the Southern Hemisphere.
