Lithuania sees growth in IPTV

The Lithuanian incumbent Teo saw its IPTV subscriber total increase by 15.8% to 191,000 in 2016.

Meanwhile, its revenues from IPTV services during the year grew by 28%.

Teo’s IPTV offer, which is rapidly replacing DTT, another TV service provided by the company, was boosted in 2016 by the introduction of a unique solution named Vaiku Kampelis (Children’s Corner).

Teo also saw growth in its broadband service in 2016, ending the year with 404,000 connections (+3.4%), of which 246,000 (+9.3%) were fibre-optic accesses.

2016 was the first year Teo and Omnitel operated as a single company.

Consolidated revenues increased by 2.5% to €345.9 million, while annual EBITDA, excluding non-recurring items, was 5.9% higher at €117.1 million.
