RanksTel inaugurates Gegabit network in Bangladesh

As the chief guest, State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim formally launched the fastest internet by RanksTel at Radission Blu Water Garden hotel in the city yesterday.

Stressing on quality services and better monitoring, Tarana Halim said, “RanksTel has started a new journey with its new logo, fastest internet and commitment. However, this service should not be limited only to the corporate, rather it should also reach the common people.”

Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Posts, Telecommunication and ICT Ministry Imran Ahmed and Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Chairman Dr Shahjahan Mahmood were present on the occasion as special guests.

RanksTel Managing Director Romo Rouf Chowdhury and RanksTel Chief Executive Officer SM Ashiqur Rahman also spoke at the inaugural ceremony.

Alongside voice, the service of 1,000 mbps data speed will change the experiences of the internet use, speakers told the ceremony.

During the inaugural ceremony, an audio-visual was presented on the journey of RanksTel while invited guests visited the Experience Zone for live demo of the fastest internet.

Imran Ahmed said: “We’ve taken initiatives to ensure the security of cyber space, and expect that the fastest internet service would play vital role in development of country and economic progress.”

Dr Shahjahan Mahmood said, “Not as a regulator, rather BTRC wants to work as a facilitator for the local telecom entrepreneurs. We want to see that the local entrepreneurs are moving forward as we are ready to offer all kinds of cooperation to them.”

“We’ve introduced new services in telecom industry combining with local talents and global experiences as we are connecting our subscribers through optical fiber to ensure a good customer experience,” said Romo Rouf Chowdhury.

S M Ashiqur Rahman said: “We have launched fastest internet in the country’s history and the corporate clients will get the services from now on and we would take this service to the mass people within next two to three months. We want to bring new services to customers in terms of voice, data and device connectivity.”
