Cable Onda looks to fuse Operations for HFC, OTT, and IPTV service

Digital TV Research projects that Latin American pay TV revenues will grow from $18.31 billion in 2016 to $19.82 billion by 2021. One operator looking like its upping its technology game to better serve subscribers and bring in some of that growth in revenue is Panama-based operator Cable Onda.

The service provider has begun building its next-generation video offering across cable, OTT, and IPTV networks on a single video back office. It is using integrated content management and advertising solutions from SeaChange International. Utilizing the vendor’s Adrenalin multiscreen TV platform, Cable Onda will serve on-demand and linear video to all consumer platforms and devices, including time-shifted TV and network PVR.

Adrenalin is reportedly being deployed in combination with SeaChange’s AssetFlow content management system and Infusion advanced advertising solution, and is said to enable Cable Onda to centralize all video operations.

“SeaChange is transitioning Cable Onda’s delivery and advertising platforms to enable its pursuit to bring superior television service to any device its subscribers choose,” SeaChange VP of International Sales Rick Ford says.

Cable Onda will also reportedly standardize on the SeaChange AssetFlow content management platform to optimize the lifecycle of multiscreen content, from movie and TV program ingest and tracking, to metadata handling and content workflow. Infusion is said to allow Cable Onda to leverage business intelligence to target ads by zone, device, or persona, then engage through pre-, post-, and mid-rolls, banners, overlays, and click-action interactivity.
