Movistar Nicaragua has switched on its LTE network in the cities of Esteli and Matagalpa, the third and fourth largest cities in the country, respectively. The expansion means that the cellco now delivers 4G coverage to subscribers in ten major cities.
The cellco activated its 1900MHz 4G network in capital Managua in November 2015, before launching LTE technology in the seaside resort of San Juan del Sur in March 2016. The network went live in Leon, Chinandega, Masaya and Granada in June this year, and was launched in Tipitapa and Ciudad Sandino in October 2016.
