Spark launches 900Mbps fiber broadband speeds

Spark has announced the launch of its new Ultra Fast Fibre MAX broadband service, which uses a gigabit connection over the Ultra Fast Broadband (UFB) network. In order for Spark customers to achieve the highest possible internet speeds they will need to have high specification hardware installed in their homes, and at its peak performance the Ultra Fast Fibre MAX broadband should provide maximum download speeds of between 700Mbps and 900Mbps. In trials of the new technology even higher speeds were recorded, reaching 930Mbps.

Ultra Fast Fibre MAX is now being offered to both Spark residential and business customers across New Zealand where the UFB network is available. The exceptions to this include Queenstown, Greymouth, Oamaru and Whakatane, which are not yet connected. The broadband and home phone Fibre MAX plan comes with unlimited data and costs NZD149.99 (USD106.88) per month, while a broadband-only Fibre MAX plan is priced at NZD139.99 per month. Businesses can buy a broadband and landline Fibre MAX plan with unlimited data for NZD212.85 excluding goods and services tax (GST), or they can opt for the broadband-only plan for NZD179.85 excluding GST, also coming with unlimited data.
