German regional telco EWE has tapped Zattoo to launch an IPTV service with 100 live TV channels, almost half of which in high-definition, in the basic package with add-ons available.
Zattoo hosts and manages the white-label TV platform, from the headend to the TV applications for the set-top-box (STB) and mobile devices. It also partners with STB provider ABOX42 to provide personal recordings in SD and HD resolution, features like teletext and HbbTV, and additional services like the video-on-demand offer from maxdome.
“It is important for us to provide a modern product for the TV experience at home,” said Alexander Kreis, head of product management services at EWE. “Thanks to the collaboration with Zattoo and ABOX42, we are able to position ourselves in the market with a competitive TV offer."
