The Association of Banks and Financial Institutions (ABEF) has launched an e-payment service in Algeria, reports APS. Many companies and institutions started opening e-payment services on 4 October, including Algerie Telecom, Mobilis, Air Algerie, Algiers' company for Water and Sewerage (SEAAL), Djezzy, Oeredoo and Amana Assurances. Eleven banks will provide their customers with e-payment service. The introduction of the online payment systems is expected to reduce the reliance on cash payments and speed up payment collections for many standard services.
