On the occasion of Ncell becoming a part of the Axiata Group, Ncell has unveiled Ncell Axiata roam offer, under which all Ncell customers travelling to Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Cambodia will enjoy attractive discounts on roaming rates while staying connected through Axiata Group network.
Under the offer, Ncell prepaid and postpaid customers will be able to communicate with their dear ones back home at a flat rate of Rs 15, including taxes, when latched with Celcom Axiata network (Malaysia), Dialog Axiata network (Sri Lanka), Robi Axiata network (Bangladesh) and Smart Axiata network (Cambodia), as per a statement issued today.
What this means is that when Ncell customers use roaming through Axiata Group network in those countries, they will be able to make and receive calls at Rs 15 per minute, send SMS at Rs 15 and use data at Rs 15 per MB. Incoming SMS remains free of charge. Discounted rates are valid on outgoing calls to Nepal and respective roaming countries in the Axiata Group network.
At present, it costs between Rs 49 to Rs 549 per minute to call Nepal from Bangladesh, Rs 349 from Cambodia, Rs 599 from Malaysia and Rs 49 to Rs 149 from Sri Lanka, depending on the operator. Similarly, customers sending text message to Nepal from these countries are required to pay Rs 20 to Rs 60 per SMS.
Ncell Axiata roam offer is coming into effect from Nepali New Year 2073 BS, that is, April 13, and will be valid until the next notice. Customers will enjoy this rate once they activate the roaming service. Prepaid customers can activate roaming service by typing ‘A’ and sending SMS to 900228, while postpaid customers can visit the nearest Ncell Centre for the activation.
