Deutsche Telekom puts T-Mobile sale plans on hold

For years T-Mobile owner Deutsche Telekom has shown interest in exiting the U.S. wireless market and putting T-Mobile up for sale. But as T-Mobile continues to gain subscribers and improve its network, Deutsche Telekom's interest in such a deal appears to be dwindling. Reuters reports that the German company has put any plans on ice as it waits to see the results of this year's 600Mhz incentive auction. It also appears to be waiting for a Presidential election that could result in either of the current front-runners (Clinton, Trump) creating "a more favorable political environment toward telecoms mergers." The most likely outcome remains a T-Mobile merger with Sprint, or a cable company (Comcast, Charter) acquisition of T-Mobile.
