PCCW-owned Vuclip and Telekom Malaysia (TM) plan to launch the Viu over-the-top (OTT) service in Malaysia next month, following its successful introduction in Hong Kong and Singapore.
The video-on-demand (VOD) service will be available in mid-March to TM's UniFi and Streamyx broadband customers as part of their subscriptions, in addition to their existing HyppTV service.
Viu will provide more than 10,000 hours of Asian content in 2016 including dramas and variety shows from Korean broadcasters KBS, MBC, CJ and SBS. Series such as Oh My Venus, Moorim School and Six Flying Dragons will join library shows including My Love from the Star, The Heirs and the all time favourite The Running Man.
Content will also be available from a range of studios including Primeworks Distribution, Media Prima, MD Entertainment Indonesia, Vision Plus Entertainment, Double Vision, Media Quiz, Huace, Media Asia, Transmedia and Caracol.

The Viu service will be available for TM customers without charge, or for RM10 per month, consumers can also subscribe to a premium advertising free package for RM10 per month.
