Virgin Mobile has appointed Fouad Halawi as its new CEO to lead the company into its next phase of development in Saudi Arabia.
Halawi brings with him over 15 years of executive management experience in the telecommunications industry in Europe, Australia and the US, and joins from Lycamobile Australia where he was group managing director.
Virgin Mobile recently announced serving over one million subscribers in Saudi Arabia, which was achieved within a year of commercial launch of the operations in October 2014.
Virgin Mobile Middle East & Africa said last year it has ambitious plans to further strengthen its position in the region by launching in more countries.
It is targeting a regional customer base of over 10 million subscribers within 5 years with Saudi Arabia forecast to be the biggest market.
