The European Parliament has passed a law that abolishes phone, text and even data roaming within the EU by June 2017. By April 30, 2016, European carriers will drop their charges to €0.05 per minute of outgoing phone calls, €0.02 for text messages, and €0.05 for megabyte of data. There will also be a cap as well, which should be determined later this year. This law was passed along with a failed attempt at net neutrality, given a few loopholes that were still found in the legislation.
