The Greek telco Cosmote has launched a new LTE Advanced (LTE-A) network capable of peak theoretical download speeds of 375Mbps. Services are currently only available in parts of Athens and Thessaloniki, while the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge + is the only handset capable of accessing the new network. The LTE-A service uses three carrier aggregation in the 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz bands. Cosmote’s 4G network was launched in November 2012 and now covers 77% of the Greek population.
