German telco Deutsche Telekom is making selected content on its TV platform MagentaTV freely available from 24 April 2025.
No subscription, registration or login will be required to access the showcase offered at www.magentatv.de.
The free window will include fiction, non-fiction, sports and music, for example the first episode of the final season of drama series The Handmaid’s Tale and the first four episodes of the series Suits LA, the new Suits spin-off.
The lineup will also comprise German comedy programmes as well as live sports coverage such as all German international ice-hockey matches in April. Music lovers can also look forward to live streams from the Wacken Open Air and Hurricane festivals.
“We want to get even more people excited about MagentaTV,” said Arnim Butzen, Senior Vice President TV & Entertainment at Telekom Deutschland. “Our product offers incredible variety, state-of-the-art technology and intuitive operation at absolutely fair conditions. Now we are making it easier for all interested parties into the world of MagentaTV and want to guide them directly into using the product via the content.”
Butzen also announced a further initiative to attract new subscribers: “We will soon be giving all TV fans access to the entire offering on our platform with a free trial week. Completely without restrictions.”
