Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s new premium international airline, has chosen Viasat, a leading satellite communications company, to provide complimentary, fast in-flight connectivity for all Riyadh Air loyalty members aboard its initial Boeing 787 Dreamliner deliveries. Powered by Viasat’s advanced multi-orbit satellite network, passengers will have access to seamless streaming, social media, web browsing, and gaming throughout the flight, from gate to gate (where permitted).
Non-loyalty members onboard will also have the opportunity to sign up and enjoy immediate access to the Wi-Fi services. The service includes the ability to stream content from personal devices, along with live TV on the aircraft’s seatback screens, offering a range of news and sports channels.
Viasat’s robust network will also enhance Riyadh Air’s digital channels, apps, and seatback entertainment systems, aiming to revolutionize the travel experience through hyper-personalization. With its Ka-band satellite technology and multi-orbit solution, Riyadh Air will be well-positioned to adapt to future advancements in satellite communications, meeting the increasing demand for high-capacity connectivity in commercial aviation.
Owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), Riyadh Air, which launched in March 2023, is committed to becoming a digitally-driven, full-service airline. It aims to incorporate the highest global standards in sustainability and safety, equipped with a state-of-the-art fleet. By 2030, Riyadh Air plans to connect travelers to over 100 destinations worldwide with innovative cabin interiors and next-generation in-flight entertainment and connectivity systems.
