The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) announced that mobile operators in Jordan have successfully completed initial technical tests of the country’s new cell broadcast emergency alert system in various regions.
According to the TRC, Zain Jordan will conduct the first live test on Sunday, sending emergency alert messages to subscribers in designated geographic areas. Other mobile carriers will follow suit with their own live tests, which will be scheduled and announced shortly.
This initiative, directed by the government, aims to enhance the country’s emergency response capabilities and ensure swift communication with the public during crises. The system is designed to be activated in situations such as severe weather, natural disasters, and other emergencies that require immediate action from the public.
The TRC emphasized that the new alert system will send critical information directly to mobile devices, helping recipients take necessary precautions and follow official instructions in times of emergency.
