The Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) revealed the performance of telecommunications networks in Makkah and Madinah during the first half of Ramadan, where the number of calls exceeded 320M calls, including 184M local calls and 21M international calls in Makkah, while Madinah recorded 107M local calls and 10M international calls.
The statistics also included the 5G coverage rate, which reached 98% in Makkah and 99% in Madinah. The average daily consumption per capita reached 1190MB in Makkah which exceeds 3 times the global average consumption per capita, while in Madinah it reached 1495MB which exceeds 4 times the global average consumption per capita.
While mobile internet speeds reached 210 Mbps in Makkah and 278 Mbps in Madinah.
It is worth noting that the communications and technology sector meets the high consumption capacity with the highest quality standards in accordance with the leadership's aspirations, as it provides high download speeds through its technical equipment and human resources, and ensures the passing of the worshipers’ local and international calls with ease and convenience.
