Amazon Prime Video has expanded its offering in Germany by integrating Apple TV+ as a separate channel.
This move follows a similar launch in the United States last October and is part of a broader strategy to position Prime Video as a central hub for streaming content. The new partnership extends beyond Germany, as Apple TV+ is now also available via Prime Video in Spain and Italy.
German Prime subscribers can now access Apple TV+ content for a monthly fee of €9.99, gaining entry to a comprehensive catalogue that includes series such as Severance, Slow Horses, and Ted Lasso, as well as Oscar-winning films like CODA. The recently launched German series Krank Berlin is also part of the lineup.
Amazon has previously incorporated other streaming services such as Paramount+, Crunchyroll, and DAZN, reinforcing its ambition to serve as a one-stop platform for entertainment. The addition of Apple TV+ enhances Prime Video’s premium content offering while also providing Apple with a wider reach beyond its traditional ecosystem.
“We delight our customers with an outstanding entertainment offering and a first-class selection of premium content, including Amazon MGM Studios Originals, live sports, licensed films and series, as well as the ability to rent or buy thousands of films and popular series. In addition, we offer over 100 additional add-on channels. The integration of Apple TV+ and its high-quality content is a perfect complement to our extensive offering,” said Dr Christoph Schneider, Country Director of Prime Video Germany.
Eddy Cue, Senior Vice President of Services at Apple, also emphasised the importance of the collaboration: “Viewers in the United States already love subscribing to Apple TV+ through Prime Video, and we are excited to bring this offering to Germany, Italy, and Spain. We want to make Apple TV+ and its award-winning library of series and films from some of the world’s best storytellers accessible to an even wider audience.”
As part of its ongoing expansion efforts, Apple TV+ has also recently launched an Android app, further broadening its accessibility. With this latest partnership, both Amazon and Apple are strengthening their positions in the increasingly competitive streaming market, offering users greater convenience and choice.
