Qatar’s MCIT partners with Microsoft to foster digital innovation and empower startups

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) of Qatar has signed a partnership agreement with Microsoft to boost digital innovation and support the growth of startups in the country. The partnership, aimed at empowering entrepreneurs in the ICT sector, was signed by Reem Al Mansoori, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Industry Affairs at MCIT, and Lana Khalaf, General Manager of Microsoft Qatar.

This initiative aligns with Qatar’s Digital Agenda 2030 and will support startups involved in key programs such as the TASMU Accelerator, the Digital Incubation Center, and the Scale Now Program. These programs provide vital resources, mentorship, and technologies for local and international startup expansion.

Through this partnership, MCIT and Microsoft will offer entrepreneurs access to Microsoft’s advanced technologies, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and big data analytics. The initiative will also provide specialized workshops, in-depth training sessions, and mentorship to enhance startups’ competitiveness and ability to develop innovative solutions.

Al Mansoori emphasized that the initiative marks a crucial step toward achieving the Digital Agenda 2030 goals, promoting Qatar’s digital economy and positioning the country as a global hub for innovation and technology. Khalaf added that Microsoft is committed to empowering entrepreneurs with tools, resources, and guidance to succeed in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.

This partnership will accelerate Qatar’s digital transformation and strengthen the startup ecosystem, contributing to the development of a knowledge-based economy in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
