Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), stated that the recently launched MyGov app on the eGovernment App Store (bahrain.bh/apps) marks the initial phase of the government's plan to consolidate digital services. The initiative focuses on merging existing government applications into three primary platforms: "MyGov" for individuals, "AlTajir" for businesses, and "Bahrain" for visitors. Some applications, such as eKey 2.0, will remain as supporting tools due to their specific functions.
Al Qaed emphasised that iGA will continue to enhance the MyGov app by integrating additional eServices based on public demand and usage, in coordination with relevant authorities.
He highlighted that this initiative aligns with Bahrain’s strategic digital transformation goals, ensuring continuous improvements in public service delivery.
Al Qaed noted that in the first quarter of 2025, the first phase of the MyGov development plan was implemented, which included the integration of BeAware Bahrain services and its subsequent discontinuation. Additionally, services from Bahrain Post and Electricity & Water Authority (EWA) apps were consolidated, with a gradual phase-out based on user experience analysis.
In the second quarter of 2025, phase two will see the integration of eTraffic and Islamiyat services into MyGov, followed by the incorporation of Sehati, Wejhati, and eShabab services. These applications were selected for integration based on their high usage rates.
As part of this phase, 19 additional eServices will be introduced, alongside new document and certificate display features, with further details to be announced at a later stage. A unified payment system will also be launched within MyGov, covering services such as criminal order payments and traffic violation payments.
Al Qaed revealed that within just two weeks of its launch, MyGov recorded 100,000 downloads, reflecting strong public interest in the app’s services and its role in streamlining government transactions.
The iGA encourages citizens and residents to download MyGov via the eGovernment App Store at bahrain.bh/apps. For inquiries, users can contact the Government Services Contact Center at 80008001 or submit feedback through the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
