Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nasser Centre for Scientific and Technical Advancement (NCST), the Centre will host the inaugural Cybersecurity Guardians Hackathon under the theme "Security Innovators 2025."
The event will take place from February 15-20 at the Centre’s headquarters in Jau.
The hackathon aims to enhance the skills of Bahraini youth in cybersecurity and foster creativity and innovation in this vital field. Organised in collaboration with the National Cybersecurity Centre and the University of Bahrain, the event addresses global digital challenges, positioning cybersecurity as a strategic priority.
Participants, including high school and university students, will showcase creative ideas and develop solutions to cybersecurity challenges using advanced technologies. The hackathon targets high school students to nurture early interest and university students to bridge academic studies with practical applications, supporting the protection of digital infrastructure.
The programme includes a preparatory day with workshops and challenges designed to encourage creativity, regardless of participants’ prior experience. Expert-led sessions will equip participants with the knowledge and tools to address challenges in areas such as network security, cloud security, IoT security, and AI-based threat detection.
The hackathon begins on February 15, with project submissions due on February 18 and final presentations and judging on February 20. Registration closes on February 14.
