T2 delivers 4G connectivity to New Troitskaya metro line stations

T2 has announced that its telecom infrastructure is ready for the opening of three stations on the Troitskaya metro line in southern Moscow. The operator has already equipped the stations and tunnels with 3G and 4G communications – the equipment has been launched before the official opening.

T2 prepared in advance for the launch of three new stations on the Troitskaya metro line – Kornilovskaya, Kommunarka and Novomoskovskaya – and installed the necessary telecom equipment to ensure a continuous mobile signal in the vestibules, stations and tunnels.

The construction stage of the telecom infrastructure began in October of this year with the provision of communications to the Kornilovskaya station, and then the network covered the stations further south. Since December 23, all installed equipment has been on the air - until the opening of the stations for the first passengers, the employees completing the preparatory work at the stations can use the stable T2 connection. The conducted drive test confirmed the high quality of the voice and data transmission services provided.

Alexey Krushinin, Technical Director, Moscow, T2

The Moscow Metro remains a strategically important project, both for the company and for the technical department in particular. In addition to providing communications at the opening stations, we monitor the quality of communications on all metro lines around the clock and, if problems are detected, we immediately take measures to eliminate them, thanks to which T2 offers passengers an uninterrupted and stable connection along the entire route. Next year, according to the city's plan, additional new stations will open for residents of the Moscow region, and we, as an operator, will promptly prepare the necessary infrastructure to provide customers with the T2 network.
