The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) held a workshop on "Digital Wellbeing“, in cooperation with King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), on the sidelines of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Riyadh. The workshop aims to highlight the Saudi Arabia’s efforts to keep up with the developments in global digitization and its impact on quality of life, discuss the Global Digital Wellbeing Index and its importance in enabling sustainable development goals, and ensure digital sustainability by meeting daily needs while maintaining a sustainable future for all.
The workshop witnessed the participation of Mr. Naif Sheshah, Deputy Governor of Strategy and Digitalization Sector at CST, through which he highlighted the importance of enhancing the relationship between the beneficiary and digital technologies, and achieving digital balance and inclusiveness through a secure, reliable, balanced and inclusive digital environment; as he invited other countries to adopt the Global Digital Wellbeing Index.
The Global Digital Wellbeing Index aims to promote collaboration between policymakers and regulators by providing the best practices and standards to enhance the use of digital technologies and maximizing their impact. The Index also aims to bridge the digital divide for unconnected communities, promote digital balance and raise awareness of digital users around the world.
