Cirion Technologies, a digital infrastructure and technology provider in Latin America, has announced the expansion of its fiber network in Mexico, with a new AI-ready fiber duct, enhancing connectivity between Mexico City and Querétaro.
This expansion aims to provide state-of-the-art infrastructure to the company’s customers, who require dedicated connectivity, IT infrastructure, and a cloud presence in the region.
This move strengthens Cirion’s AI-ready infrastructure by securing an underground duct, which will be used to expand Cirion’s fibre network in the region.
Diego Mahecha, EVP of Corporate Development at Cirion Technologies, says: “We trust this new route will allow us to effectively address our customers’ specific needs for dedicated access as well as strengthen our network redundancy in this important region in Mexico.”
Additionally, Cirion has invested in new metropolitan networks with state-of-the-art optical technology to triple the size of the current footprint and bring fibre connectivity to new locations in three cities, including 73 kilometre metropolitan rings in Guadalajara, about 200 kilometres in Monterrey, and more than 260 kilometres in Mexico City.
Cirion’s national ring in Mexico currently spans over 4,260 kilometres and is connected by international routes in Monterrey. The Cirion PAC (Pan-American Crossing) submarine cable system also connects Mexico with Los Angeles in the United States, as well as Costa Rica and Panama in Central America.
And there’s more to come. Leonardo Barbero, president of the Connectivity Business Unit, at Cirion Technologies, says: “We understand the importance of expanding and renewing our infrastructure to provide high-quality services to our customers through fast and secure connections. Cirion will continue investing in the region to support business growth and government initiatives.”
